Things are a little different...

So many things.  Everywhere you look is something that you recognize a little from home but then there is a Filipino twist to it that makes you realize that you are in fact halfway across the world.  The first weekend we were here Kayli and I wandered around the mall just taking in all the shops and the different styles, the food courts, everything.  We found a few different things remind us of home that we turn to sometimes turn to, one of which being Starbucks and the other, unfortunately, is McDonalds.  Now, I'm not saying that those are the only things here that we also have at home.  There are a lot of brands here that are familiar, Monster, Hersheys, Coke, Coke Light (aka Diet Coke), Cold Stone, etc.

One of the things I knew I wanted to try to find here was different flavors of ice cream.  Well, we definitely found that........

This is Ube flavored, which is a fruit, this is a good flavor to have.  It isn't too sweet but is still really good!
Yes, you are reading that right, Mais con Quezo.  Corn and cheese ice cream.  With chunks.  No Bueno.  I don't know if it was the chunks that really threw me off but also the flavor... not good haha.

This was the last one we tried, Avocado.  It tasted like, cold avocado. If it was a little bit sweeter I'd probably be all over that!  However, as is, not exactly my deal.  But hey, at least I tried!

I know this is a short post, I just wanted to shed a little light on some of the differences here!  We have some touring planned soon, I can't wait to show you more of Manila!

Missing you guys back home!
Rachel
